“Re-Examining and Re-Interpreting Approaches to Wind in the Urban Environment”
Note: The Sydney off-site program session details are still to be confirmed.

Wind testing plays a critical role in the creation of successful, pleasant urban environments. This session, conducted in the wind tunnel facilities of CPP, will convey how wind engineering is applied during the design process. The benefits of these analyses will also be explored from the perspective of the tall building developer, who benefits from reducing the severity of downdrafts and buffeting around tall buildings, particularly in public open areas. Following the presentations, CPP’s wind tunnel team will provide participants with a tour of the wind tunnel and a behind-the-scenes look at how wind tests are performed for the design of today’s increasingly complex building forms.
